I feel like all I think or talk or facebook about lately is being pregnant and how it is affecting me and what is going on with the baby and I don't want to be that person - you know, the one who only ever talks about baby stuff and eventually toddler stuff then kid stuff and on and on. So I'm going to make the concerted effort to avoid the baby-talk...for this one blog at least. ;)
So "in other news" I had a job interview Monday...for a small college here in Fayetteville that does stuff like Radiology, Massage Therapy, Cosmetology, Dialysis Tech, etc...they award licensures instead of degrees and I was really interested in it. The job was forwarded to me by my thoughtful friend Aria and I thought "what the heck" and sent in my resume. The job was for the Director of Admissions, and since I have 4 years of Admissions experience and a Masters, I guess I was a good candidate becaue I got called the very next day for an interview. So I interviewed Monday and it went well. I had good answers for their questions and I think they liked me, but in the back of my mind I just couldn't shake the thought that this just wasn't the right move for me.
The college called me back the day after my interview - I could see it was their number and let it ring through to voicemail because I just wasn't quite ready to talk to them yet. They told me I was one of their top 3 prospects and wanted me to come back for a final interview today (Thursday.) I thoguht about it and prayed about it and called Justen and talked with him about it, and in the end, decided to call them back and tell them "thanks, but no thanks." Ultimately, even though it would have been an increase in title and a sizeable incresae in pay, I just feel very secure in my job with the state and with the great insurance I have. 100% of my OB visits are covered!! I hope I didn't burn any bridges with this college, but if I did, then I guess that's okay too. It was a stressful decision, but if nothing else, it's always good to make sure your resume is up to date and to get in some good interview practice I guess!
I love that we are able to make our really big choices with promptings from the spirit. How different would our lives be if we did not have it to guide us through life. As for the baby talk. I think you deserve it.
